5 Stars The solution for a bright room
I had a 40-inch rear projection TV that I was completely happy with until I moved into my current house 18 months ago. My living room now has high ceilings and lots of windows, and trying to watch the rear projection TV during the day was nearly impossible, even with the picture brightness turned all the way up.
I got the Samsung LN52A630 on Friday, and I just can’t believe the difference. Daytime viewing on the LCD is even better than nighttime viewing on the rear-projection. I highly recommend this TV for anyone, and especially anyone with a bright room to put it in. Also, a pleasant surprise was the ability to make the picture “side-by-side” instead of just a small picture-in-picture. This feature is perfect for football season. Since I went from a rear-projection TV to the Samsung LN52A630, I can’t speak for the Samsung compared to other LCDs. But I can say that I am 100% satisfied with this purchase, and would definitely do it again. One more note; I purchased the TV Tuesday and it was delivered free of charge to my home by Pilot on Friday. The TV and delivery service are both great.

Pro: I’m very impressed with the realistic look when you find a true HD program on Dish Satellite. It looks the best when watching local HD stations from your antenna connection.
Con: Closed Captioning should be easier to turn on and off.

This is a great TV. It’s the low end of the 120hz choices. I wanted a 120hz tv. The price is better then any of the chains. Plus no sales tax. TV was delivered on time. They delievery guys came in and unboxed it. Sat it on my stand and plugged it in. They took away the trash. That is all they will do and it’s enough. The picture is great. Remote works well. It does take a little time for all the channels to get scanned in. After that your good to go. The matte finish works well when you have some sun in your room as I do. I have not noticed any glare. We’ll see if that stays the same as the angle of the sun changes through the year. The touch of color is not noticable. The only negative thing is that you cannot see the button labels on the tv on the lower right hand corner. If the remote works, you don’t need them.

I selected the Samsung LN52A630 after extensive research. I researched many HDTV’s but chose the Samsung because it had all the features I was looking for and had received mostly rave reviews. This HDTV has proven to be everything it was advertised to be. The picture quality is great, the television looks great, and I have not had any problems. At first, I was a little aprehensive about ordering such a large and expensive product on-line. To me, the merchant was just as important as the purchase itself. Therefore, finding a merchant I trusted was critical to my decision to buy on-line. In the end, I chose to make my purchase from Amazon because I had ordered from them before and felt most comfortable placing my order with them. Their competitive pricing, free delivery and set-up were an added bonus. The TV was delivered three days before the projected delivery date. The carrier called me to schedule delivery to my home and to my surprise, arrived at the time when he said he would. The set-up was quick and the delivery driver was very professional. He was also able to talk about the product with a good level of expertise. He impressed me with that. Yes, I would highly recommend this product and I would further suggest that you buy it from Amazon. You can buy from Amazon without reservation or apprehension.
