5 Stars Hello, Sammy Dear!
I purchased this unit A month and a week ago, And She’s solid as a ROCK! This is a very good player, She has good features. Now I never owned a Blu Ray player B4 but the only thing i had to compare it 2 was my Toshiba HD DVD player And Scientific Atlantic HD 8300 cable Well it whips cable and basically ties w/the HD DVD player as far as pic and sound is concerned. Now this unit is not BD live ready but can be with a an firmware upgrade and Ur BD live disc won’t play unless U put a flash drive in the back of the unit I stuck a cheap 8GB which was way to much memory now I have a 4GB in which is still too much. So w/the flash drive in my BD live disc worked perfectly Oh like Iron Man would not play until I put the flash Drive in But would work once I deactivated the the BD live feature, But playing Traitor would play But not the BD Live features But w/@ least 1GB flash it will be solid, U need @ least 1GB to access all features all UR disc will play w/o it, Even the Samsung BD-p2500 takes a flash drive for added storage. UR SD disc will look Great and burned DVDs will look Good. But I highly recommend this player Enjoy! PS. Since I’ve purchased it I now own 12 Blu Ray titles so yes I do work her out!

2 Stars Decent when it works
I’ve had the 1500 and 1400 model. Both needed firmware updates immediately and were unable to play some discs until I went through the trouble to drag them near the LAN connection and hook them up to a portable TV for the update. The 1500, which I’ve had almost three months, is dead. It started off putting out a picture with lines across it, then failed completely a few weeks later. I’m shipping it back to Samsung’s replace center in NJ. That worries me a bit because they completely lost the Samsung upconverting DVD player I sent them last year and when I called repeatedly to track it down, they didn’t even answer the phone. I gave up after two weeks of trying and called Samsung, which was no help either. Since it only cost $100, I just forgot about it. This one is too expensive to let it slide. If they don’t get it right, I’m done with Samsung. And just when I was about to buy the biggest LCD TV they make for my family room.

I bought this player with income tax money. I really wanted a player but didn’t want to spend too much money, so $200 was perfect. I’ve always been a big Samsung fun, most of the components in my house are Samsung. I haven’t got a single complaint about the player at all. The load time is not nearly as bad as people has made it out to be. The video and audio are top notch quality in my opinion. I would highly recomend this player to anybody wanting to get there first Blu Ray player but don’t have a ton of money to spend on it. I already own about 10 movies. My family didn’t care much for me buying it when I did, but now that they’ve seen what it can do they all love it.

5 Stars Very Good Blu-ray Player
So far so good. I haven’t had any problems with this thing. Hoping that there would be none at all. I didn’t update it yet. I don’t intend to unless it actually needs it. My only “gripe” about it is that it doesn’t have a memory feature to remember where I left off in my movies, though there are some movies that kind of have their own “memory.” But it would be nice to have this “memory feature” built in to the player. Other than that, this player is really great!
