5 Stars Good monitor
I have not done a side by side comparison. Still, this monitor has more than met my expectations. I am using it as a monitor for my laptop. I should have started using an additional monitor in this regard long ago. It works great.
1 Stars No Sound
I was so excited to get my new TV. Had everything setup. Set the TV to scan for all available channels. The process of removing channels was horrible. Unlike Sony where you just click add/delete in this Sharp TV you have to go through the menu and delete each channel. Hate it. Then I get to a few channels where I can see the picture perfectly, but I can’t hear anything. That’s strange because all the other brand TV at home can get those channels with sound perfectly even Vizio the brand I hate with its poor quality picture and a control that only works if you angle it towards the far right. What gives. Sharp is suppose to be a better brand. They need to work on their digital tuner especially the sound. I contacted Sharp, but have not heard back from them yet.
5 Stars My honeymoon with my sharp Aquos!
When I saw this product it was love at first sight! As tempted as I was to purchase this in a showroom, I knew ordering online far out-weighed that option. It arrived sooner than excpected and the Pilot delivery service was exceptional, saving me the struggle to get it home. Set up was quick and before long the Sharp Aquos was performing beyond my expectation! It has been with me for only a month now, but I have already pledged my eternal love to it. The surround sound is great and the picture is without words. I have never seen such color on any other brand. It takes movie night to a whole new level and this product is also a superb choice for gaming! Every household would be a better one with a Sharp Aquos in it!
5 Stars Great quality - top notch
TV’s color quality and picture are as strong as Samsung, Sony and Panasonic. Has all the inputs you need to add game consoles and DVD players. Lacks a headphone jack.
2 Stars Pay attention - Sharp Televisions have some serious issues
After searching for a television to fit my very tight TV cabinet, this 37 inch was about as big as I could get. But after dealing with instant issues, I should have opted for a 32 inch with a higher consumer report rating.
Don’t get me wrong, this LCD is brilliant when it works… but this is the catch. I was able to turn it on instantly for about 5 times after delivery, but since then, it takes sometimes 2 minutes to 10 minutes for the television to start working. I was one of the unfortunate ones with the flashing green light of death.
Essentially what this means is, the television tries to fire up and after 3 attempts you get the power light flashing twice. This is a bad power board or something of the sort. Being one who understands technology isn’t always fool proof, I called Sharp customer service to have it repaired. They were very nice on the phone and said a service tech would be out in three days to repair the unit. Apparently based on other message boards, this was really a quick turn around time.
My time slot was 4pm to 8pm and I was given the number of the Service Company who was supposed to fix the tv.
At around 7pm I became somewhat anxious since I had to deal with the kids, the animals and everything else that goes with someone coming to your home to repair something. I called Sharp again to ask why I wasn’t given an advanced call (which I was told I was to get) and they said to call at 8pm if they didn’t show.
At 8pm they still did not show up nor did they ever call. When I called the company, they were of course closed and now so was Sharp. Needless to say, I fear this is the start of something very awful and had I done more homework I would have stayed away from this company.
Frankly I am surprised in this day and age customer service is what it is. It seems no one cares any longer, nor do they care if they leave you in the lurch. I expect this television to be repaired immediately or replaced, however, based on my experience so far, it doesn’t look like any time soon.
As for the the television when it does work, it’s brilliant. Just ask yourself is it worth the risk you may get a faulty unit which seems to be more common than not.
