5 Stars Eye Candy
I’ve been researching HD TVs for about 18 months now. I’m glad I waited for the B750 to come along. I have watched plenty of HD television at friend’s houses, and can safely say that none of them compare to the B750.

Simply amazing picture on HD television content as well as bluray. My set has no clouding, flashlights or stuck pixels at least to the naked eye. Shipping was fast (3 days from order) and the delivery guys did a good job.

I haven’t had an opportunity to test drive any of the ancillary features on it so I can’t really speak to things like flickr, yahoo widgets, etc. There are literally so many features on this set it will keep me busy for some time to come.

My main concern with this TV was with the glossy screen. It faces my kitchen and several windows but I’m happy to report that glare is not an issue thanks to the ultra bright screen. Sure you can see some reflections but you REALLY have to look for them and it’s not at all distracting. Bad reflections were a deal breaker for me so I took a chance and couldn’t be happier.

Overall the set is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.

5 Stars Amazing TV
This TV is amazing. The reviews don’t lie. The TV came shipped quick and was packaged tightly. A lot of these Blu Ray movies I have look 3D even with the HD channels on TV look like their gonna reach right out of the screen. Highly recommened.

4 Stars Almost perfect but still needs a little polishing
Great picture most of the time, but as expected, standard def leaves much to be desired. Very disappointed with picture & picture. The second source can only be cable or over the air. Why can’t I select any available video source? Picture is very bright as expect with an LCD. This maybe close to the pinnacle of LCD technology.

5 Stars Samsung LN528B750 1080p LCD HDTV
This is one of the nicest looking TVs I’ve ever purchased. I was amazed at the quality and clarity of the picture once it was hooked up. Set-up was a breeze and took seconds using the HDMI cable. I didn’t think the picture would be much different than my 3 year old LCD, but it was the difference between night and day, and that’s not including what it looks like in HD. The HD will knock your socks off. It looks as if the person is sitting or standing in the room with you….it’s hard to describe. I’m still amazed at how beautiful the picture is on this TV. If I could afford it, I’d buy one of these TVs for every room in my house.

5 Stars I love my new HDTV
I love the new Samsung LN52B750 television I purchased from Amazon. The picture is beautiful and I am totally satisfied. The only thing I am unhappy with is the fact that before I even received the television the Amazon price had dropped an extra $100 (a special they were running) and I was not allowed to benefit from that special. So if I had waited a couple of more days to order I would have saved $100. This will make me think twice before I order from Amazon again.

3 Stars Not impressed
Out of the box the picture is not sharp at all. Better with HD channels, but still not as clear as expected. After looking through the manual and troubleshooting, still can’t find a decent solution. Don’t know if this a defective tv or just the way it’s supposed to look. Toshiba customer support not available, so will try to contact them tomorrow.

4 Stars Great Entry Level HD TV
I’ve had this TV for three weeks and I’m happy with the quality. I had a relatively small living room so I needed a smaller TV and this model works perfectly. It displays all the HD channels well. Compared to a $3000 Sony I can tell a slight difference but it’s marginal. At $700 level you can’t really complain.

As other reviews have pointed out the sound isn’t impressive, but it works for my small room. If you’re looking for something louder you’ll have to hook it up to a system.

Overall I’m really happy with the TV.

5 Stars Jack- energyman
The most brilliant, correct accurate TV ever. In 60 years of watching TV

nothing comes close to Toshiba Lcd. BUT, I’ve heard that led’s are the furure. As an 78 year old Scotch man I expect you will give us even better.

5 Stars HDTV Beginner
This is my first HDTV and I am no “techie”. However, I know what looks good and what doesn’t. I looked for quite awhile and read reviews here and on Consumer Reports (Samsung highly rated). CEVA delivered and set up TV and remote, took a strole through the channels and removed the packaging. I just got HD service on May 30, what a difference!! I love this TV so far and the Samsung upconverting DVD player I got at the same time. HD channels are crystal clear, the pic is beautiful and DVDs are awesome played on this TV. Sound is good also. I am really pleased with the TV, the price, and the delivery.

3 Stars Problems!!!
We bought this TV because it is so highly rated. Within a month of purchse, the sound went. I called Samsung at midnight the night it went out, and at 7:00 the next morning, I got a call from their repair service saying that they were on the way. So the service was amazing! The repairman replaced a big circuit board, and that created more problems, so he replaced another. That seemed to take care of it. But a few days later, we were watching it, and it would turn itself off and on, over and over. So I called again, and they said that they knew what was wrong, and would have to order the only other circuit board in the TV. A couple days later, they came out and replaced it, and finally it seems OK. Except since they replaced the last part, whenever you change channels, there is a few second pause in between. No big deal, but a little annoying. Also, we have surround sound, and it will not work with this TV. Even the repairman tried to get it to work, and didn’t understand why it wouldn’t. The picture is very good, but not perfect like some other ones I’ve seen. I think we just got a lemon.

4 Stars Samsung LN40B550 40-Inch
The product was delivered promptly, set up properly, and has been working well for watching DVD movies since we have had it (about 4 weeks). We do not watch TV so we cannot respond to that particular function.

5 Stars WOW!
We live in the country 52-54 miles away from the nearest TV stations and our house is surrounded by 80ft tall trees. I replaced the old roof antenna with a new one and a twin lead with a coaxil cable. The TV picture is beyond our wildest expectations and the sound is superior to our old analogue TV. We receive over thirty stations. We watch the news from our dinner table 19 ft away and all other times we watch from 11 ft away. We wouldn’t want a larger size screen. The viewing angle is great. Besides watching VCR tapes we don’t use the other available features and therefore cannot comment on those.

As a side note: it helps to be computer savy in order to understand and navigate through the steps in the user manual.

The TV was delivered three days after I ordered it by Pilot Freight Services. I was very pleased with the manner the box was secured in the truck. The driver helped me carry the box inside the house but said he wasn’t allowed to unpack for inspection. As the TV weighs only 33 lbs I could do it by myself. And finally as for Amazon, I have never had any problems of any kind. So “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”

4 Stars Samsung 40 inch TV
I love the LN40B550 Samsung LCD TV. Picture is great. Remote control is excellent. However, there is one drawback. This TV has no hardware or suggestion to secure the TV to a stand.

5 Stars Very pleased
I haven’t bought a new TV in over ten years and the last one I had was a hand-me-down from my grandfaher (so yes, pretty old). My new TV is big and shiny and pretty. The remote it comes with works very well and I can actually adjust the color scheme if I want. The set up was quick and easy. Took it out of the box, had my brother set it up initially and done. I moved a few weeks later so I had to take off the base and reattach but that was still very easy to do. This may not be the most helpful review but just know that my tech-loving brother picked this out for me and he is jealous that he didn’t get it first.

5 Stars This TV is fantastic!
I’ve been researching flatscreens since the end of last year and finally decided on the LG. I couldn’t be happier! The clarity of the picture and the incredible sound were worth the wait. I spent two days on my couch watching the Masters & I don’t even like golf that much. The price from amazon.com was also better than Best Buy. I’m glad I shopped around.

5 Stars Great TV
This TV exceeded my expectation. The HDTV tuner works really well, the multiple inputs are more than enough to satisfy my needs (Cable Box converter, DVD, HDMI Inputs, etc.).

The USB functionality is really cool. I plugged in a small USB extender that had come in some other thing I bought, and to that I can plug my Western Digital external Hard Drive, and browse through photos with a stunning really amazing color display in the TV, and I can even listen to my MP3 as I browse the photos, all done through the USB with computer at all. Trully a great buy !

Cons: it will not play video files on your hard drive, nor will it access your hard drive over a network. The TAGS for the different inputs cannot all be customized.

5 Stars Awesome TV..
I like this TV.. My 2nd LG. Remote should be back-lit, but… Good inputs, it hangs well on the wall. I like the Red/Side finish to it. Good product, good price, and Amazon shipping was timely.

5 Stars 32LG70 highly recommended
LG makes LCD panels at their state-of-the-art factories used by many other labels. The 32LG70 is a first-rate product with a good looking glossy black case, friendly menu, and excellent color. While it does not have the deep blacks of plasma, it compares favorably with any and all 32 inch LCD panels. The entire LG70 series are top of the line and highly recommended.LG 32LG70 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

5 Stars Fire to a Caveman
We absolutely love this TV. When it came in, I was at work. My husband said the delivery service was excellent - stayed around to unpack, set up, and test for power before taking off. He called to tell me it had arrived and he said ‘this must have been how the cavemen felt the first time they discovered fire.’ I burst out in laughter; but, when I got home and watched it - its true - the difference is revolutionary.

5 Stars Beautiful TV
This tv is awesome. The picture quality is amazing. I chose to buy this over the samsung B650 due mainly to aestetics. I disliked the shape and color of the B650 touch of color red. The rectangular framed, touch of color gray was much more appealing to me.

One issue I’ve seen was unwatchable video tearing and skipping when viewing video files though the Ethernet media center program ( I don’t remember the official name of the samsung built in media software.) other than that, connecting my computer to the tv, over DVI-HDMI wrked like a charm, and the clarity is incredible.

5 Stars Samsung LN46B750 46-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV with Charcoal Grey Touch of Color
I looked around and did so much research that by the time I made my choice the new models came out. I made the leap and have had this TV for a month now and I am very happy with it!

This TV has a pristine clear picture, the best I have seen so far. The sound is average but lets face it when you buy a TV like this chances are you will upgrade to a sweet sound system anyway.

You can tweak this TV every which way too Tuesday, I find it was great right out of the box but being a guy I had to play around with it anyways and if you don’t like it you can reset it right back to where it was out of the box with just a click.

Even being a new model this TV made cnet best 5 HDTVs list and the price I paid for at Amazon could not be beat, and trust me I did try to find a better price.

I got this bad boy five days after I placed my order (a few days early) with the free shipping and the drivers set it up in no time and took the box out for me.

With the money I saved I ended up getting a Blu Ray from Amazon as well and I could not be happier.

If you are thinking about it… just wait for a good price on Amazon and do it!

5 Stars Great TV! Excellent picture quality
Great TV, no problems so far.

The gloss black finish does get dirty easily and leaves finger prints.

Kinda wishing I would’ve got a 52″ too, but overall I highly recommend it!

4 Stars Great deal, quick delivery and arrived in perfect condition
We’ve been waiting for some time to replace our current TV with more up-to-date technology and were thrilled to death to see the offer come through email for the deals on Amazon for big screen TVs - Samsung in particular. We researched the competition and couldn’t find a better deal. Saved a bundle and got free shipping as a Prime customer. We received another $200 off just for showing interest in the items during our research. Reading the reviews written by others that purchased the same or similar unit was a tremendous help in making our decision. We were surprised how quickly it shipped and the carrier was able to bring it a day earlier than expected. They even brought the shipment right into our home. We were somewhat leary about the amount of reflection we would experience as reported by others but it has not been annoying at all. The 46-inch screen is a perfect fit for our room. Looking forward to many pleasant hours of TV enjoyment. We’re holding off on a 5-star rating until we get our HD cable connection. Will update the rating once we’ve had the full experience. We will definitely talk up this experience among family and friends and recommend Amazon again.

5 Stars don’t be misled, this is a GREAT TV… (read on)
(Model number added) I bought the LN52A750R1F for my wife’s birthday–not the red Touch of Color, but the shiny all black one with Black ToC.

The picture is AWESOME. This TV is off the hook. Outrageous…

We have DirecTV in SD transmission because much of what we watch is still in SD transmission. The SD programs from Russian Channel 1 are a bit grainy when examined from 3 inches in front of the screen. From the other side of the room, i.e. 15 feet, the image is fabulous. Other SD transmissions from here in the States have the same effect. It’s the SD transmission quality, not the TV.

DVD’s are outrageous even in standard DVD quality. For about $80 you can find a major-brand up-grade converter to transform standard DVD’s into near-HD quality. Be sure to use a quality HDMI cable available for < $10 on-line.

Now, when you go to TV broadcasts in HD, eg. the local news, Fox Sports, Robin Meade on CNN, then you see what looks like a 3-D image that blows you away. We watched National Geographic’s “Inside the Vietnam War”, MLB, Nascar, various music performances, and were very impressed. They ran a “Burn Notice Marathon” on USA Network–it’s like looking through a window.

There is a reflection issue around the screen, but all you have to do is dim your lights at night. It’s so cool to watch the TV in the dark, like at the movies. The easy way to kill the reflections is not to put black tape on the set. RECOMMENDATION: just set the unit further back in your furniture enclosure and the reflections will disappear since the ambiant light will no longer reach the screen from the sides.

The TV looks so stylish, similar in style to my wife’s Toshiba laptop. It completely fills the open space in our huge furniture home entertainment center. A killer TV.

BTW, our big room measures 16′ by 32′ and the kitchen looks out into the room. Now I can wash the dishes and enjoy the show. The sofa is at about 15′ from the screen and is just perfect.

As for the speakers: many people complain that they don’t like the sound, whine, whine, whine. 1) I did a custom settings myself (for free) and the sound is excellent! 20W speakers sound fantastic, no need to turn it above 25 on the scale 0-100. 2) For a bigger-than-life experience, I connected it to our “old” Sony 200W home entertainment system which has several pre-set sound mixes (large/small concert hall, automatic, 5.1 surround sound, game, jazz, “house music”, etc.) which does the job with ease. Rock on Wayne, with AC/DC’s tour videos.

Forget the reflections, watch the show.

Also, I did a custom settings myself and the picture is a quantum-leap better viewing than with the standard settings. You can always revert back to the out-of-the-box settings. The remote control menu settings is very intuitive, extremely well thought out.

Party on, Garth….

5 Stars LN52A750 — Things that make a difference…
Have you spent hours, days, or even weeks trying to make the best decision possible? Of course, but please, take the pressure off of yourself and KNOW that most of these tv’s will provide an utterly astonishing picture, so it doesn’t really matter which one you choose — unless there are known issues, you will be happy!

I had a chance to see many of these tv’s lined up, side-by-side, various brands, all playing the same Blu-Ray, all hooked up via HDMI. The sales rep showed me how he could make a “lesser” TV dominate the others by merely adjusting the “STD” and “DYNAMIC” settings and multiple other settings — and vice-versa. There are a wide range of adjustments to toy with, for sure!

Regarding LCD’s, 120hz (even 240hz), 52-55″ screens, — if someone was to hide the frame from view — so that you could see only the screen, it would be almost impossible to distinguish whether you are looking at a Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, etc. There’s just no significant difference.

However, there is a subtle difference with the newer LED screens that are out now, but it’s only noticeable when you are close-up, about 12″ away from the screen (it’s almost impossible to see pixels — really beautiful!) But back away about 5 feet from any of them, and again, they all look the same. (Again, just my opinion)…

At this point, in this price range with these manufacturers, it all boils down to features, appearance and design of the frame (bezel) and price. Some have internet links, some have usb or memory card ports, some have swivel stands, black bezels, red bezels, glossy, matte, etc. Pick what matters to you.

After hours of going back and forth, I finally settled on the LN52A750. It was being displayed right next to the LN52B750 and another Samsung with a 46″ LED screen. From about 5 feet away, the A750 was just as beautiful as the LED set — and $800 cheaper.

HDMI vs Component…

Once home, I set the TV up and since this was my first HDMI experience, out of curiosity, I set up the TV with component first, then with HDMI. The video/audio diference was noticeable, but not much. If for example, the HDMI give you 100% quality, I’d say thet component gives you 95% quality, and it’s noticeable only if you really analyze it by playing a particular scene over and over, toggling back and forth.

Also, I couldn’t seem to capture the “feel” of the “MotionFlow” that I experienced at the store unti I realized that my Blu-Ray was set at 720×480 for some reason. I set it to 1980×1080p and BAM… huge difference. (And yes, the Blu-Rays do make a HUGE difference in quality over standard dvd’s when you are viewing with these sets!)

The little things really add up to make a nice difference.

Final note — all HD channels are not the same. Some are “crap”, some are breathtakingly gorgeous. So don’t blame the TV or get buyer’s remorse if you happen upon a crap channel. The TV does the best it can with the channel it’s displaying. HGTV-HD, for example is hit-n-miss. Some shows are filmed with high tech equipment and display beautifully. Some are horrible.

And watching standard definition channels… well, let’s just say that the Blu-ray and HD channels will spoil you rotten (but in a fun way)!

Back to this particular model — I’ve looked for and can’t find the “halo effect” that some complain about, so it’s likely been redesigned since it’s launch. I also have no problem with the “dial” on the remote. I actually like it — and I also like that you can set it to where it lites up on it’s own if you touch it in the dark — cool feature”. (There’s a very quiet rattle in the remote that you can hear which is a motion detecting device). The settings are very intuitive, and the manual is layed out beautifully.

I can’t imagine how the manufactures can improve on the picture quality, but whatever they do, I’m sure that any revolutionary changes will be a few years down the road, and crazy expensive in the beginning –so for now — and at least for the next few years, I’m thrilled with this purchase.

4 Stars SAMSUNG 52LN750
PICTURE IS EXCELLENT. ONLY ISSUE IS THAT SOMETIMES I SEE A SLIGHT GREEN HALO. I DON’T KNOW IF ANYONE ESLE HAS EXPERIENE THIS OR IT’S JUST A PROBLEM WITH MY CABLE. OTHER THAN THAT, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TV.

5 Stars Perfect TV
I cannot describe it in other way, this LCD is amazing, from the first moment you turn it on will impress you.

I’m very sattisfied and will recommend it.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great, but not all that
I bought this to replace a stolen Panny 50″ 720p plasma that I was very happy with. This item cost about 1/3 more than the equivalent 720p replacement but the reviews convinced me to spring for a little extra. I’m not unhappy, but I’m not overwhelmed either. Picture is gorgeous, but so was the cheaper 720p version in my relatively small living room. I have to talk myself into thinking that this TV looks better than the stolen one. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail.

Biggest con: the sound is tinny and cheap sounding. If you have an external amp + speakers (I do), plan to use them routinely instead of just when you want to watch a movie. The TV that was stolen sounded so good that I occasionally had to look to see if the external amp was on or if I was listening to the internal speakers. If you DON’T have an external amp/speakers, factor buying some into your purchase price if you choose this item. You will find the audio quality almost too poor to watch the Weather Channel.

I really like this TV, but Panasonic cut serious corners in the audio department. And in a small space, 720p seems to be about as good as 1080p, even at the 50″ screen size.

5 Stars Everything Nice
Bought this back in April. It arrived 3 days after order. I could not believe it. My first HDTV but I’ve watched many from friends homes and sports bars. This is the best one I’ve ever seen. For a plasma, the glare reduction is the best ever, no one else comes close. I don’t know how they did it.

Only problem, I can’t stand watching my old 32 inch CRT tube in the bedroom. Gonna have to upgrade that one soon I suppose.

5 Stars Great Picture
I work for Directv and get to see plasmas and lcds all day. This tv looks as good as anything out there. What a deal!

5 Stars Really Nice!
I bought my Panny through Amazon.com and received it quickly. The shipping Co. was great. I’d read others had problems, but I didn’t. The TV is beautiful. I watched a vampire movie that was VERY dark and the blacks perfect. I have a Blu Ray player that looks beautiful w/ this TV. The extra features are OK (SD card access, internet access, etc.), I just don’t use them much. I checked reviews on this TV before buying and they loved it and so do I.

5 Stars Awesome TV
Great life like visual. Doesnt get that hot in the back. Havent tried blu ray yet but the dvds on my xbox 360 hdmi look awesome. the sound does lack like reviewers say on here..but its nothing emergency like where you have to go buy a home theater set. it will do for the average elderly (not for me though currently shoppping for a set of home theater). controller is kinda cheapish but nothing to majorly complain about. Im very happy. with its specs and features for 50 inches at the price of $1550+ great deal.
